Mina Stones is a Vertically Integrated Social Enterprise involved at every level of the gemstone value chain from the mines to the market. The company has its headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria, and a presence in Atlanta, GA.
We are involved in the responsible sourcing of gemstones, working closely with Artisanal and Small-scale miners (ASM) in communities across Africa. We work in gem and gold producing communities to support mining operations, and off-take products to trade on the international market. We manufacture gemstones and jewelry products for the local and international markets.
By working with local ASM miners and creating a consistent buying channel for products, we proffer a solution that addresses sustainable operations of ASM mining and access to fair prices.

About the Founder
Started by GIA-certified Gemologist and Engineer, Lotanna Amina Okpukpara in 2011, ”Mina” as she is fondly called has a burning passion for promoting gemstone communities in Africa, she continues to embark on projects to support the development of the gemstone value chain throughout Africa, including initiating the first-ever African Gemstones & Jewelry Exhibition & Seminar (AGJES), the first of its kind in West Africa in 2015 to encourage collaboration & trade across the continent and beyond amongst other things, helping to set up Gemstone processing centers and supporting artisanal miners and their families with obtaining licenses, free training & funds for school fees, feeding mentorship and more.
